In order to lead others and organizations, we must first be able to lead ourselves with strength, confidence, and authenticity.

My name is Nacie Pereira, and I am believer in the power of self-leadership to help us make decisions, mitigate burnout, and create results. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of leaders across organizations of all shapes and sizes, including engineering directors in post-start-up tech companies, industry experts at top management consulting firms, VPs at established retailers, and more. Along the way, I’ve written a book on career adaptation and earned my Master’s in Organizational Psychology as well as an ICF Coaching certification.

Self-leadership in particular has always been a passion of mine. How we lead ourselves, how we grow ourselves, and how we rise up to face the opportunities - or challenges - the world around us throws is endlessly fascinating to me.

In college, I studied history and found the process of creating narratives from the information that remained of people long past that was accurate, accessible, and useful in a modern context to be amazing.

After college, I took a job as a QA analyst at a financial software company - I was told as a liberal arts major I could be anything, and so I thought it sensible to take the highest paying entry level role I could get. That was a HUGE MISTAKE, but perhaps the most fortuitous of my life because the dissonance, frustration, and angst I felt working in a job that was so poorly suited to my strengths and best use was the gateway to my awareness of - and love for - professional development as a field of practice.

I quit that job after a year to pursue freelance writing, which led me into learning curriculum design, which led me into needs assessments and facilitation and ultimately coaching. Along the way I worked as a research associate to the chair of the Organizational Behavior unit at Harvard Business School and drove learning and coaching programs at Boston Consulting Group, Zipcar, and more. Since I’ve welcomed my two young children, I also now find myself continuously exploring the impact caregiving has on how we lead.

Today I am delighted to build Sunburst Leadership Consulting on the foundation of all I’ve learned about how we can grow ourselves with intention and for maximum impact.
